kraftwerk re:werk vs Max Cooper

kraftwerk re:werk is a ground breaking musical experience, taking Kraftwerk’s iconic album Trans Europe Express as the starting point for a thrilling symphonic trip.

Created by composers Charlotte Harding and Lloyd Coleman that premiered at Simple Things Festival 2017, kraftwerk re:werk is an intoxicating mix of symphonic and electronic instruments, with ear-bending sounds sitting directly next to 70s beats, and each and every sound on-stage amplified and filtered live, turning the orchestra into a giant synthesizer.

Conducted by the award-winning Charles Hazlewood, the 39-piece ensemble contains a bank of Moogs, drum machines and live percussion, assistive technology, alongside bass oboes, an electro harp and a suite of orchestral strings and brass.

After kraftwerk re:werk, Max Cooper will present a live AV set that will take you on an incredible filmic journey. Linking his interest in science, music and visual arts, Cooper’s mesmerising collection of ideas and audio-visual experiments form a kaleidoscopic immersive sound experience.

‘nothing short of a marvel’, Bristol Post

'the arrangements are bold: the melody from Trans-Europe Express rings out of a dizzy whirl of sound, while Autobahn’s smooth pootle is chaotically recast as Mad Max’s morning commute.' The Guardian
